Hello and welcome to Dow Ethics! It’s a blog about the stock market or at least that’s what I hope it’s going to be. You see, I’ve had the idea of starting a blog for quite some time now and looks like I’ve finally reached that pivotal point where intentions meet reality, so we’ll see where this all will lead us. Well, where it will lead me, actually, but if you stick around, you’ll find some useful and interesting information, I’m sure.
Who am I? I’m Jones, Dow Jones! Nah, I’m just pulling your leg. But you can, indeed, call me Jones if you like. Let’s go with that. I’ve been involved in trading stocks more or less all my adult life. Since I’m a huge fan of the stock market, you probably wouldn’t be surprised that Benjamin Graham and David Dodd’s “Security Analysis” is my bible. Speaking of books that have influenced me, I still remember the time when my peers were reading Kurt Vonnegut’s Slaughterhouse-Five and trying hard to wrap their head round the layers of meaning and I was in awe reading Napoleon Hill’s classic from 1937 “Think and Grow Rich”.
Apart from stocks, I’m a fan of the hip hop culture – I have a strong preference for old-school rap – and all kinds of sports. I’m no jock but I’m not the typical bookworm, either.
To start this blog right, I must admit I haven’t done this before, so I’d appreciate any feedback you might have for me. Drop me a note letting me know what you like or don’t like about this blog and do tell if there’s any topic you’d like me to cover. Once again, welcome and enjoy!
